SommPair uses artificial intelligence (“AI”) to help users better understand
wine through photo analysis and conversational guidance. This page explains how
AI is used within the app and how user data is handled in that process.
How SommPair Uses AI
SommPair uses AI systems to:
- Analyze photos of wine labels
- Identify wines and producers
- Generate tasting notes and food pairing suggestions
- Provide contextual, conversational explanations
AI is used to support and enhance the user experience — not to replace human
judgment or professional expertise.
Limitations of AI
AI systems are probabilistic and may occasionally produce incomplete or
inaccurate information.
- Wine identification may not always be correct
- Tasting notes and pairings are subjective and informational
- Users should not rely on AI responses as professional advice
How Your Data Is Used
When you use SommPair:
- Photos and text you submit may be processed by AI systems to generate responses
- Uploaded photos are stored securely to support app features such as saved bottles
- Data is used only to provide and improve the SommPair experience
SommPair does not sell personal data and does not use personal
information to build advertising profiles.
Model Training
User-submitted photos and content are not intentionally used to
train public or general-purpose AI models.
Data may be processed by third-party AI services strictly for the purpose of
generating responses within the app.
Human Oversight
SommPair is designed to keep users in control. Users decide what content to
upload, what information to trust, and how to act on AI-generated insights.
Your Choices
You may:
- Choose what photos and content to submit
- Delete stored content where available
- Request account and data deletion at any time
